I have a “friend” who texted me out of the blue the other night.  She wrote to tell me how much she and a few other of my “friends” miss me and that they’d like to see me very soon.  Specifically: This Friday evening at the movie theatre where my fiancé works to see The Secret World of Arrietty.  
Ahem.
First, it’s a rather large group of people.  Some I know (and miss), but most of them I don’t know nor care to.  I told her no, that I’d be busy with assignments. This is absolutely true.  I do nothing but study in my free time.  I told her the truth, that I’m preparing for graduate school and I just don’t have the time to spare right now, which probably sounds pretty harsh, but school does come first for me.  My friend didn’t appreciate my answer, I guess, because she started to guilt me for it right away.  She said they totally assumed I would say sure because it’s only for a few hours and blahblahblahblah.  A few hours to me is a lot.  I have no time to breath.  
Secondly, after thinking about it, I realized that it wasn’t me they were interested in but my ability to get them in to see the movie, like my fiancé should just let them in.

I realize my three besties are really the best.  They’ve never treated me like dirt or taken me for granted, but these people have on more than one occasion.  So thank you, Angie, Kayla, and Este for being my bear family.  

PS: I’m pregnant.
